Titled after the verse Psalm 42:1, “As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God” (ESV), this piece was a journey through the process of how if we will surrender, lifeless pieces of us are slowly carved away until we reflect God’s image. The deer was drawn from a photo I took in Maine over the summer, and that moment will forever be etched into my memory as a moment of longing, perfect stillness, joy, and fulfillment
